Overview
GST registration is mandatory once your aggregate annual turnover crosses ₹40 lakh for goods or ₹20 lakh for services, with lower thresholds in special category states. It is also compulsory regardless of turnover for interstate suppliers, e-commerce sellers, and anyone liable to pay tax under reverse charge.
Beyond compliance, a GSTIN lets you claim input tax credit on your purchases and is a practical prerequisite for selling to most corporate customers or on any major marketplace.
